This is why you can’t go down the road

December 2, 2006

Every bobby has had it.

You’re standing on a cordon. There’s blue tape everywhere. There’s a police car blocking the road and someone ALWAYS asks “Can I go down here?”

The answer is always the same – you politely explain that the road is closed, whilst inside your brain is screaming “WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK I’M DOING HERE?”

For those too thick-witted enough to understand why we block the road off, read this story and commit it to memory. Next time you see the road closed off, think of poor Santa and go another way without bothering the poor sod stood at the tape.

Had someone who demanded that he get to his place of work (on his doorstep to work was a murder scene) I said now. He kept on and on. Once I said that if it was his family that had been murdered, how would he feel if some self centred arrogant tosser ruined the crime scene ruining all chances of catching an offender. He soon went home
