Links and revision

March 19, 2006
I’ve added a few more links to the sidebar and messed around with sizing and stuff. It’s amazing what you can do when you should be reading Blackstones.

For those who haven’t studied for promotion, Blackstones are the manuals from which the exam questions are taken. There are four of them, Crime, Road Policing, General Police Duties and Evidence & Procedure. Like the four horsepersons of the Apocalypse, they are not welcome in my house.

Unfortunately, the only way to know what is going to be in the exam is to read these hundreds of pages of law and procedure. No pictures, no helpful little diagrams, nothing but text, text and more text. The problem with having this stuff on my computer is that I get very easily distracted by blogs, e-mails, flashing lights and basically anything.

Anyway, back to the topic. I’ve put a link to the UK Police portal. If any readers want information about joining this elite band of brothers, sisters and prefer not to says, then go to the recruitment section.

A few new blogs have been added as well. If anyone else wants to get on the sidebar, let me know.

See World Weary Detective in the links. Sadly – he is no more following Met directive.
