If I was Chief Constable

February 24, 2006

This is not about career aspirations.

This is a scheme that my force has launched under the pretext of allowing each individual the chance to come up with revolutionary ideas to improve policing.

We’ve been asked to submit ideas and initiatives to improve policing and the contributors of the best ideas get a reward.

I think first prize is a promotion to Assistant Chief Constable. Second prize is Sir Ian Blair’s job

The desk monkeys have run out of ideas… They need to take credit for someone elses… Perhaps its time they got back on the street, so they wouldn’t have to ask…

Make members of Parliament and all local politicians do a full shift with officers. Then they’d see what it was like to be out dealing with the citizens. That would certainly, in some way, improve policing. At least the coppers would finally get a little sympathy from the politicos.

Careful… you’ve sort of given away which force you’re in there… especially if this amazing scheme was advertised on our pay slips…

You don’t want them proffessional standard hounds to get the scent…

    Wouldn’t a bar of Cadbury’s Fruit n’ Nut be more appealing? ~Sharon

Seeing as most “detectives” in PSD couldn’t find their arse with both hands and a compass, I think I might be OK.

Plus, they’ve got to work their way through over one thousand of us to find me.

Sharon – that would be lovely, thanks!

The desk wallers that thought of this has copied the idea from many forces …and he / she will probably get promoted for ‘their brainwave’.
